Look no more. Have each person bring a one-pound gift. Yep, it does leave the possibilities wide open for a fun gift exchange. You will need to decide the best way to distribute the gifts on the big day. A fun way is to read a story using the words right and left. As the story is read the gifts have to be passed in the correct direction. It should be enlightening to see who forgets their right and left directions during the gift passing. Then go around the circle for each person to open his/her special one-pound gift. Let the fun begin! When we did this exchange at a family gathering the gifts were very creative. One person received one pound of m&ms, another one pound of salsa and chips, another person received one pound of pennies, and I was the honored person to receive one pound of spam. Yes, it was the gift everyone was a bit jealous that they did not receive. The laughs rolled as each person opened their gift. It was a very fun exchange. I hope this idea makes your Christmas gift exchange a huge success.
